You know they're tired. They've moved, non-stop, through their day, tackling more activities than you ever thought possible. Their eye lids may be drooping but they hear the word "bedtime" and suddenly they get a second wind. I don't know how they do it and I'm pretty sure I'll never understand it, but we might as well try to figure out a way to deal with it. That's where our favorite bedtime books come in handy. The prospect of a special reading time with you just might be enough to convince your little guy (or girl) to slow down a bit and head up to bed. Now you've at least gotten them to the place where sleep is the main idea. Some quiet time and a good book will hopefully help accomplish the mission. Beyond the benefits of a good night's sleep (for child and parent!) are the well-documented benefits of reading to your child. So it's a win-win...we hope!
To get you started, here are some of our favorite bedtime books. You can find them in the left column at www.sweetonbooks.com. Of course we love Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown, but we also have a few others that you might enjoy.
