Hugo Cabret, The Movie

 

 

We can't wait for Thanksgiving Weekend, 2011! The movie based on the brilliant Brian Selznick book, The Invention of Hugo Cabret, will be released.  Directed by none other than Martin Scorsese.  If your young reader hasn't experienced this terrific, wholly original novel - get thee to the bookstore or library before November.  You and your young reader will not be disappointed. Take a look at our Sweet review here.  A novel told in pictures and words, we promise it is like nothing you have ever experienced before in literature.  It's just terrific!  We can't wait to see what Martin Scorsese does with it, in 3D no less. Asa Butterfield, Chloe Moretz, Sacha Baron Cohen, Ben Kingsley and Jude Law make up the cast of the movie.

Judy Moody - The Movie!

 

 

Judy Moody is coming to the big screen this summer in Judy Moody and the NOT Bummer Summer.  In the movie, Judy is determined to have the summer of her life, with help from Stink and Aunt Opal.  If this movie is half as good as last summer's adaptation of Ramona and Beezus, we should be in for a treat!  Thanks to our friends at Shelf Awareness for letting us know.  A novel by the series creator, Megan McDonald, "inspired by the film's script" will be published later this year by Candlewick.
